Question four.
'How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? Powered by emaze
Question three.
'What have you learned from your audience feedback'.

We produced a survey which we handed out to other media students in our class to fill in when watching all of our class videos.

The first question on our survey was 'What age do you believe would be most likely to watch this music video and the 'pop' genre?.

Our audience feedback shows that our target market would be targeting the 13-19 year olds who would watch the 'pop' genre music video. We planned to target this target market when planning out who we wanted our music video to reach out too.

Question 3. 'if yes please choose from the selection below.'

These would be the positive aspects of our music video, with the most popular choice being 'upbeat', our music video is very upbeat due to the genre of the song, our song needed to be upbeat for the target market we were trying to reach out too.

Question 4. 'If you were to watch music videos how would you find them? and on which device would you watch them on?'

When analysing the best way on how to reach out to our target market, and how they would find our music video, we found out from our research it would be best to use methods such as YouTube, which was found to be the most popular method, which is how we published our music video.

Question 5. ''Would you say the music video just watched is for 'Mass' audience, or 'niche' audiences?'

We tried to make our music video appeal to a mass audience, which our feedback has agreed with, as our music video applies to typical media conventions of a pop genre video, so would appeal to many people on a mass scale.

Question's 7, 8, and 9 on the survey we asked and considered the strengths and weaknesses of our music video, and the improvements we could make to improve our music video.

Strengths of our music video would include:
  • lighting
  • the lip sync
  • well edited
  • good visuals
  • good camera angles
  • quick cuts
  • fits with a stereotype.
Weaknesses of our music video:
  • more scenes
  • more of a narrative
  • bring in more characters
  • repetition
  • limited shots

I would agree with the feedback from our survey, our music video was produced to a high standard, but could have some improvements made too like the ones suggested above. Bringing in a wider variety of scenes, and a clearer narrative for the audience to link too. I also agree with the positivies to our music video, our music video was very well edited, and the lip sync was done and matched up well. We had a variety of camera angles and quick cuts and good visuals, with the music video clearly fitting with the stereotype.

Evaluation.

Question one.
- 'In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?'

Friday 20 February 2015

Our audience.
Our audience for our music video would mostly appeal to teenagers and young adults, mostly women.
Our music video would appeal mostly to women, as it is a girly song and implies a girly music video to match the song.
Production of our music video.
We started filming for our music video, we planned our ideas on a story board, and we planned to use a variety of locations.
Our music video would star one main character, our friend from school who would star entirely throughout the music video.
Our locations included my bedroom, a white studio (these would be the two main locations).

We shot in my bedroom to show the Character appearing to be getting ready for a date with her boyfriend, who then cancelled on her at the last minute with no explanation as to why, the next shot then shows the character all glammed up in the white studio.

We filmed at a white studio in our local area, we wanted a white studio as we left it fitted the theme of the music video we were trying to achieve.

When we were filming for our music video, we filmed each scene approximately 5-6 times, to ensure we had plenty of spare footage if we had any issues. It would then mean we had the choice of which footage to choose from.

Friday 5 December 2014

We have decided to change our song to Cheryl's 'I Don't Care' this is a newly released song which was released in November 2014.
for this song we will have one main performer, who will be in a white studio for the beginning of the song, we will then use a variety of different locations, these will include different parts of a house, such as a bedroom and a kitchen. We may also include a party scene.
Our song will be quirky and different, with a music video theme of a couple who are breaking up.
This is Cheryl's version of the video, we will be taking a different approach from the video that she has chosen.
